Momomia is an Indian food chain specializing in momos, a dumpling popular in North-east India, Nepal, and Tibet. The chain was founded in 2018 by Debasish Majumder, a Banker turned Entrepreneur with a passion for food and a dream to create his name in the world.

Momomia started as a small food outlet in Guwahati, a city in the Northeastern state of Assam. The first store was a modest 110 sq. ft. shop with just three employees and an investment of Rs 3.5 lakh. But despite the challenges, Momomia grew rapidly, thanks to the dedication of its founder and the quality of its food.

We offer a variety of momos at different price points, ranging from the budget-friendly Veg Steam Momo, which costs Rs 60-70 per plate and comes with five pieces, to the high-end Sizzler Momo, which costs Rs 200.

About Our Founder:

The chain’s founder, Debasish Majumder, is a passionate and hardworking entrepreneur committed to making Momomia successful. Despite the challenges faced by the business due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Debasish and his team worked hard to keep the chain going and even expanded its operations during the pandemic.

Debasish Majumder is the founder of Momomia, one of the fastest-growing momo chains in India. Momomia is the second largest momo brand in india. He was born and raised in Habra-West Bengal, and has always been passionate about entrepreneurship. His journey to success has been challenging, but his hard work and dedication have helped him build a successful business.

Debasish completed his higher secondary education in Kolkata before relocating to Guwahati. After completing his studies, he started his career in the banking industry and worked as a branch manager at Axis Bank. He rose to the position of cluster sales manager to branch manager and had a successful career at the bank. However, his passion for entrepreneurship led him to start his own business.

While working at Axis Bank, Debasish started his first venture, an ice cream shop. However, the business failed, and he lost around Rs 8 lakh. Despite this setback, he did not lose hope and continued to dream of starting his own successful business. He quit his job at Axis Bank and started Momomia in 2018 with just three employees and an investment of Rs 3.5 lakh.

The First Few Years Were Challenging For Momomia, And The Business Needed To Take Off Faster. However, Debasish’s Determination And Hard Work Paid Off, And Today, Momomia Has Over 100 Stores Across India And Is Growing Rapidly.

Debashish is a firm believer in the importance of quality and customer service. He has built Momomia to provide high-quality, hygienic momos made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. He also strongly emphasizes customer service and ensures every customer entering a Momomia store has a memorable experience.
Despite the challenges faced by his business due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Debasish and his team were able to adapt and continue to grow. Momomia has opened 55 new stores in just one year, and the business is back on track to continue its expansion plans.
Debasish is also passionate about giving back to the community and providing employment opportunities to local people. Momomia employs over 350 people, and Debasish takes pride in being a part of their growth and success.
